Not getting as much milk as your old flanges (another brand) or not emptying well in our hard plastic flanges is usually caused by using the wrong flange size.

When you first put on the flange before turning on the pump, check to see how much room there is around your nipple.  When your nipple is centered in the tunnel, there shouldn't be any more than 1/8 inch between the side of your nipple and the side of the tunnel.  If there's more, size down.  If there's less, size up.

If you're seeing significant swelling after using one of our hard plastic flange sizes, it usually means the flange is too large and you'll do better in a smaller size.
